☆ is White Star (U+2606), and ★ is Black Star (U+2605). For a four-point sparkle shape, use ✧ or ✦; for a small mathematical star operator, use ⋆. These are separate Unicode characters. Choose a shape here, then preview its weight and spacing in your destination font.
Tap Copy for the original text. Use Add to build a combination.
Outline star symbols
Open five-point designs for a name, heading, or night-sky note. Pick the exact character rather than expecting all outlined stars to look alike.
Filled and styled star designs
Filled, circled, pinwheel, and shadowed characters. These are distinct designs, not formatting settings applied to ☆.
Small stars and four-point accents
Compact separators and sparkle-like shapes. ⋆ is officially a mathematical operator, while ✦ and ✧ are four-point stars.
Star and sparkle emoji
Pictorial accents for celebrations or captions. Colors and artwork come from the app or operating system.
Short star combinations
Original multi-character examples for a readable heading or note. Replace the sample words or use Add to choose the spacing.
Star symbol names, Unicode, and HTML codes
Match the character to its name before copying. HTML codes are for website source; paste the symbol itself into a bio or message.

On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to compare the codes.
Five-point stars versus four-point sparkles
☆ and ★ are the familiar five-point outline and filled stars. ✧ and ✦ are four-point stars with a sparkle-like silhouette. Choose them for different visual roles: a five-point star can frame a heading, while a four-point accent can separate short words.
The table gives each design's actual name and code. Adding bold or changing text color affects rendering, not the identity of the copied character.
Why a star-like shape is not always a star symbol
𖤐 is Bamum Letter Phase-D Ngkeuri (U+16910). Its shape can resemble a star, but Unicode classifies it as a letter. It is not included in the copy collection; use one of the named star designs when you want a star character.
⋆ is also a distinct case: it is Star Operator (U+22C6). Its small shape can be useful as decoration, while its official name records a mathematical role. The reference keeps that distinction visible.
How to use a star as a profile accent
Put one star beside a short name or heading, then write the actual introduction in plain text. Jun ✧ drawings · books · night walks keeps the interests readable while using a four-point star as a separator.
Use the mixer for repeated symbols and spacing, or combine a star with a moon when the text is about a night-sky theme. Keep words that express a rating or achievement explicit.
Why stars change size or show as boxes
A text font decides the stroke and position of ☆, ★, and ✧. The emoji renderer may use separate artwork for ⭐ or 🌟. Copying preserves the characters, not the exact drawing shown on this page.
Try a simpler ☆ or ★ if a rarer design is missing. When a divider wraps, remove symbols rather than forcing alignment with many spaces.
Sources and references
Unicode 18.0 supplies the character names and identities. Shape descriptions and profile examples are written by SnakeBaby. The collection does not classify every star-like letter as a star symbol or assign an automatic rating meaning to decorative stars.
How this collection is maintained
We distinguish five-point stars, four-point accents, the Star Operator, and pictorial emoji. Names are checked against Unicode data, and codes are calculated from the copied text. A star-like Bamum letter was excluded because it is a writing-system character. Font appearance and profile-field acceptance remain destination-dependent.

How to use these
- Copy an individual star or use Add to place it in the combination panel. The label and reference code are not copied.
- Add another accent, choose spacing or a new line, and select Copy all for the assembled sequence.
- Paste into a supported text field and add your own words. For a divider, shorten the combination until it fits the saved mobile layout.
Platform notes
- A star in a message or bio is not guaranteed to be allowed in a unique account handle. Check the rules for the field you are editing.
- Text star size, position, and outline depend on the font. Emoji star artwork may differ between devices.
- A missing-glyph box indicates unavailable rendering, not an extra star shape. Try ☆ or ★ or a supporting font, and preview before posting.

Quick FAQ
What is the difference between ☆ and ★?
☆ is White Star (U+2606), generally drawn as an outline. ★ is Black Star (U+2605), generally drawn as a filled star. The Unicode names do not force white or black ink; the font and text color control their appearance.
Which star has four points?
✦ is Black Four Pointed Star (U+2726), and ✧ is White Four Pointed Star (U+2727). They are separate from the five-point characters ☆ and ★.
Is ⋆ an ordinary decorative star?
⋆ is U+22C6, officially named Star Operator, a mathematical character. You can use its small shape as decoration in a supported text field, but that does not change its Unicode identity.
Why is 𖤐 not in the star collection?
𖤐 is U+16910, Bamum Letter Phase-D Ngkeuri. It may resemble a star in a font, but it is a writing-system character, not a Unicode star symbol. This collection uses named stars and labels the mathematical operator separately.
Does a star always mean a review rating?
No. A star can be a decorative accent, a bookmark-like cue, or part of a rating. When you mean a score, include clear words and the actual rating rather than relying on a row of stars alone.
How do I make a short star divider?
Add a star to the mixer, add a second star or another accent, choose spaces if needed, then copy the result. Keep it short and preview the saved text; repeated symbols do not guarantee a fixed divider width.
