Cloud and presentation sequences

One base character and two standardized sequences. Copying the sequences preserves their selectors, although rendering still depends on the destination.

Sun, rain, snow, and lightning clouds

Choose the actual named weather design. The characters describe pictorial motifs, not current weather at your location.

Short cloud accents and headings

Original editable text combinations. Replace the words, and keep the important information readable without the decoration.

Cloud Symbols: names, Unicode, and HTML codes

Match the character to its name before copying. HTML codes are for website source; paste the symbol itself into a bio or message.

Base cloud, text cloud, and emoji cloud

☁ contains one code point. ☁︎ and ☁️ each contain the Cloud character plus one selector. Their visible forms may look alike in some apps, so the code table also shows which copy value you are choosing.

U+FE0E requests text presentation and U+FE0F requests emoji presentation for this standard sequence. The copied selector is a request to the renderer, not a guarantee of one outline, color, or drawing.

Cloud characters are different from one another

⛅ is Sun Behind Cloud, while 🌥 is White Sun Behind Cloud. 🌧 is Cloud With Rain, and ⛈ is Thunder Cloud And Rain. Similar artwork does not mean these characters have identical values.

Choose the design that fits your written message and keep real weather details in words. A decorative cloud emoji alone does not establish temperature, a warning, or an actual forecast.

Use one cloud accent in a readable bio

A short phrase such as ☁ slow mornings can introduce a quiet visual theme, but add a concrete interest or detail if it is your entire bio. For example, slow mornings + watercolor explains more than a row of clouds.

If a cloud looks different after pasting, compare the saved field rather than this page's preview. Try the explicit text sequence for a text accent, or simplify a frame when the words wrap.

Sources and references

Unicode 18.0 identifies weather characters and standard presentation sequences. Cloud headings and decorative examples are authored by SnakeBaby and do not provide meteorological data.

How this collection is maintained

We preserve the text-versus-emoji selectors, compare similarly drawn but distinct weather characters, and calculate codes from copied text. Generic ornaments unrelated to clouds are excluded from the reference. We make no universal rendering or forecast claims.

How to use these

  1. Choose the exact character or combination and tap Copy. Labels and reference codes are not part of the copied text.
  2. Paste into a supported text field with Ctrl+V, Command+V, or the mobile Paste command. Replace any sample words with your own.
  3. Preview the saved text. Font differences and narrow fields can change the appearance or cause a longer combination to wrap.

Platform notes

  • A message, bio, display name, and unique account handle can have different character rules. Check the exact destination field.
  • Text glyphs depend on the font; emoji artwork depends on the app or operating system. Copying preserves characters, not this page's colors or drawing.
  • A missing-glyph box can indicate that the needed font is unavailable. Try a simpler character or another font where the app allows it.

Quick FAQ

What is the plain cloud symbol?

☁ is Cloud, U+2601. The base value may render as a text glyph or emoji artwork depending on the destination.

Why do ☁︎ and ☁️ look similar but copy differently?

Each contains Cloud followed by a different variation selector: U+FE0E for text presentation or U+FE0F for emoji presentation. The renderer may show similar drawings, but the underlying copy sequences differ.

Are ⛅ and 🌥 the same character?

No. ⛅ is Sun Behind Cloud, U+26C5. 🌥 is White Sun Behind Cloud, U+1F325. They are separate characters even if their artwork looks similar.

Will a cloud always remain black and white?

No. The app controls fonts and artwork. A text presentation sequence requests text styling, but copying cannot guarantee a particular color or rendering in every destination.
